Beer Is Good. Beer Is Good. Beer Is Good.
I mostly drink wine. It makes me feel smarter and more refined.
With that said, lets talk about beer. You know, liquid bread… the kind that makes men look pregnant. Now that we’re all on the same page, let’s dig deeper into what some people call the “nectar of the gods.”
I don’t drink much beer. If this comes as a surprise to you, please refer to the first paragraph of this article. When I do drink beer, I like good beer. I like expensive beer. I like beer that doesn’t taste like water. Don’t get me wrong… I enjoy my $10.00 20oz cup of Budweiser when I’m at a baseball game; but when I’m home, I want something that tastes so good, sharing would be considered a crime.
The North Coast Brewery company is one of the best breweries in the world. They’re located in the foggy coastal town of Fort Bragg, CA. I like Fort Bragg. Any town that gives children rides on the Skunk Train is a favorite of mine.
North Coast Brewery makes a lot of my favorite beers. Today we’re going to talk about Old Rasputin – Imperial Stout. Students, please take out your pens and papers. Prepare to take notes. The test will be open book, and open bottle. Here we go.
Old Rasputin shares a lot with its namesake: both are deep, dark, and mysterious. Both have likely led to their fair share of bad decisions. Purchasing this beer, is not considered one of them. It comes in a 4 pack, and punches you in the face with a ABV of 9% and 75 IBU’s. Trust me when I say, you only need 4 of theses…. unless you’re 300lbs. Then a keg will suffice. This beer is hands down good. Its rich, deep and does not lack in flavor. I highly recommend this beer if you like Stouts.
Visit their website here: North Coast Brewery and please don’t blame me if you become addicted.
I totally LOVE the Old Rasputin Stout, it is one of my favorites. They serve it at Tower Cafe, in case you need to eat too for some reason. This stout is thick, rich, and one of the best. I’d think about having one now if it wasn’t morning. Must resist…
